a bit dusty

Fri Apr 17, 2009, 12:12 PM
Haven't done much this year with crafts or pictures. Last year of undergrad is kind of rough time wise and my camera got stolen so I have to learn my new one (which is needlessly complicated).
Took up beading a bit again and learn quite a bit of really interesting techniques from my mom's neighbor who teaches beading classes and let me play guinea pig.
My knitting hasn't stopped but I've mostly been making really boring stuff that people asked for, or a shawl that I designed but can't manage to get a good photo.
I'm graduating from undergrad in a matter of days. I'm so burnt out that I'm going to work in boyfriend's hometown for a year before going back to grad school. Don't have a job lined up yet or a place to stay worked out yet.
Hopefully when I've got a 9-5 job I'll have time to get back to doing the things I love like my crafts and reading for fun instead of just obscure research. *Self note* First on that list of hobbies to take up again is Ukrainian Easter eggs.

Sunivo Journal

Last Sunday Mommy and Aunt C let me help them bake cookies.
There were only kinda big cookies in the beginning and they looked like fun.
Then they decided to make "reasonably" sized cookies. Dumb humans. Aunt C said to make a parrot sized cookie it would have to cover the whole cookie sheet so I fluffed real big cause I was excited, but I think they were only teasing me because I never got my ginormous cookie *pout*

Not much going on

Have been taking Japanese and it is eating my soul (18weeks worth of class in 6 weeks), will be taking again at a slower pace in the fall. I don't know my plans for the second half of the summer but will probably include a job and more knitting.

for a bit of a change in pace I will post pics of my vaction (sans family members) rather than just pics of da feathered baby and my knitting.
For those who aren't into the knitting pics, don't get your hopes up. I've got a lot of projects on the needles and I'm bound to finish one or two soon.
finished the sleeper thing for cousin's baby but waiting on a pic from the cousin (and for the kid to grow into it).

Thanksgiving Plans

Tue Nov 21, 2006, 11:21 AM
Sorry I haven't really been around much, college has been overwhelming this semester and every week has been "I just need to get through this week".

I'm trying something new as far as crochet (not my strong suit so I'm fixing it hopefully) over Thanksgiving break (hopefully, I'll be able to stick it in my purse once I start to get the hang of it).

I really should also finish the sleeper thing for my cousin's baby (I've tried to sew up the sleeves at least 6 different ways so I'm a bit discouraged if not stuck and the child's growth will not wait for me to figure it out) and I should finish the hat grams actually asked for (but i can't find it).

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL! (by all I mean everyone in the U.S. I guess, but the rest of you will have happy full feeling type thoughts sent your way)
